Behind the Red Noses est un film documentaire qui plonge au coeur d'une tournée rocambolesque en Amérique Latine. Le célèbre clown Jango Edwards & Mondial Cabaret le duo français embarquent pour 5 semaines de spectacles et de master-class, du Vénézuela au Panama en passant par la Colombie. Leur périple aux multiples rebondissements s'achèvera par la création du Premier Festival International de théâtre de rue de Panama City.

Tout commence quand Christophe Glockner, 18 ans, découvre Jango Edwards sur scène.
Un choc, une claque, une révélation. Inoubliable.
Vingt ans plus tard, devenu acteur et metteur en scène, Christophe s'interroge. Qu'est devenu Jango? Où est-il ? Se produit-il toujours sur scène? Après de longues recherches, Christophe retrouve Jango Edwards. Il a fondé une école, Le Nouveau Clown Institute, et vit à Barcelone. L'occasion est trop belle : Christophe se rend en Espagne pour y suivre une master-class. Il rencontre enfin, 20 ans plus tard, Jango Edwards.
Aussitôt, un lien privilégié se tisse entre les deux hommes. Christophe a soif d'apprendre auprès de celui qu'il considère comme « un des plus grands clowns vivants ». Jango rêve de remonter sur scène en France. Et Christophe est bien décidé à redonner au "maître" ses lettres de noblesse. Il devient l'artisan du retour de Jango en France et en Suisse, pour plusieurs master-class. Mais le véritable come-back se fait en juin 2014, pour une série de représentations à guichets fermés, que Christophe organise et produit. Grâce à lui, Jango est de retour sur scène, à Paris.
Contre toute attente, Jango propose alors à Christophe de partager la scène avec lui, dans un nouveau spectacle. Christophe rétorque par une idée aussi folle: créer ce spectacle à l'autre bout du monde, et mieux encore, monter ensemble le premier festival de théâtre de rue de Panama City.
Un voyage initiatique, où l'élève partage enfin la scène avec le maitre.

Twenty years later, as he became an actor and director, Christophe never forgot the one who showed him the light. What happened to Jango ? Where is he ? Does he still show up on stage ?

Against all odds, Jango proposes to Christophe to share the stage in a new show. Christophe answers with an idea as crazy as : creating this show on the other side of the planet, and the creation of the First International Festival of Street Arts of Panama City.
